Skream - You Know, Right? (CRM170)

One of the most charismatic pioneers of UK dance music, Skream, is back on the visionary label that is Crosstown Rebels. The momentous 'You Know, Right?' has been avidly searched for since its inception and will finally be released in November 2016.

This two tracks EP contains two innovative productions from the musical chameleon, pushing the boundaries of genre once again with breakbeat percs, potent keys and a garage style vocal, Oliver Jones Aka Skream explains, 'I was extremely surprised after sending Damian a batch of tunes for him to say he wanted 'You Know, Right?' as my next release on Crosstown. This proves once again Damian is a visionary as it's gone on to be THE biggest tune in my sets all summer'. The EP also features the techno soundscape 'Minor Smooth' on the B-Side.

We last saw Skream on Crosstown Rebels last year with the epic 'Still Lemonade', which gained high critical acclaim. Keeping the standards high the truly individual 'You Know, Right?' has already been heavily supported this summer by Jackmaster, Jamie Jones, Annie Mac, Steve Lawler and Damian Lazarus among others.

Starting out as one of dubstep's first most prominent and prolific producers, Skream went on to achieve commercial success and critical acclaim with Magnetic Man alongside Artwork and Benga reaching #10 in the UK Singles Chart. More recently he has been releasing on his label Of Unsound Mind and as a sought after remixer on labels such as Boysnoize Records, Hot Creations and Watergate Records.

Dinky - Slowly (CRM171)

Closely following the release of her critically acclaimed album 'Valor', trained musician Dinky releases the second single from the album on Crosstown Rebels. The stunning 'Slowly' also gets the remix treatment from fellow Panorama Bar favorites and Berliners Matthew Styles and Radio Slave.

Dinky's 'Valor' as a body of work tells a deeply personal narrative, made during a period where her life was in danger during a troubled pregnancy. Recognized by Mixmag as 'the most accomplished - and definitely the most personal' of her six albums to date, where 'the resultant project turned out to be a passionate and beautiful work'.

'Slowly', like most of the tracks on the album is centered around Dinky's illustrious vocals. Resident Advisor said of the vocals "[I can see that I'm losing you slowly] is as poignant as the song's fragile piano". Dinky explains "Slowly" is the most special song on the album to her, 'It represents in its pure essence where melancholy and freedom meet. The song was written in a difficult moment where I had to let go of a lot of fears and just accept. It's a song about detachment where losing can be a gain'

Matthew Styles is a highly respected DJ and producer who as the first label manager of Crosstown Rebels has since made his way as a producer in his own right releasing on the likes of Ostgut Ton and his own Running Back Records that he runs with Gerd Janson. His remix takes the song to euphoric heights with its infectious bassline and impressive disposition. Dinky reveals that 'Matthew knew the song and its meaning so well that he captured its spirit perfectly'.

Matt Edwards Aka Radio Slave is also back on the label since his highly celebrated remix of Aphrohead last year. Owner of Rekids, matt recently released 'Vision', which celebrated 10 years of the label. Here for his first remix, he delivers a pulsating beat, intricate in its ethereal chords and vocals. For his second remix he conjures a stripped down, minimalistic version with broken percs and fervid synths for a beautiful and compelling effect.

Dance Spirit - One For The Heads EP (RBL039)

Dance Spirit are US natives Christopher Mohn & Reagan Denius who combine forces to create music that captivates, that compels you to move, that inspires. In their own words...

"One For The Heads"  is a practice in hypnotic meditative states of rhythm, with an aim to distract the body via voodoo rhythms by dancing, while preparing the mind for inwards adventures into the self. It communicates a serious and stimulating feeling for the dance floor that lets dancers know the DJ is getting serious and deep".

"Mind Of Man" is the original inspiration prose we conjured into reality for the vocals. It's also a metaphor for the transformative power of the mind and soul through love, wisdom and faith, like turning lead to gold, we are all our own alchemists, capable of personal transformation".

"Gone Beyond" is the act of transcending the known three dimensional reality and piercing the veil of the inner connection to the divine light within us all. "Numbers Don't Lie" is the scientific study of light, and the universe, and material reality. The numbers 5, 7 and 12 are all expressed and reflected in this space".

Dance Spirit return to the Crosstown rebels imprint after releasing their 'Drowning In Irises EP' on Rebellion last year. They have also previously put out music on Kindisch, Culprit, Connaisseur Recordings, Maison D'Etre, Endless Music among others.
