Amirali - Melancholia EP (CRM109)

Last year Amirali burst onto the scene with the style defining debut album ‘In Time’, and several stand out singles for the label that discovered him, Crosstown Rebels. Fast-forward to 2013 and the producer/musician/singer is evolving his sound with killer craftsmanship. Next release ‘Melancholia’ aims straight for the heart of the dancefloor with a pair of moving remixes from club weapon veteran Deetron.
The original mix of ‘Melancholia’ is pulsing with an epic, cosmic force, where an intoxicating combination of shuddering bass and moody, spooky disco grooves meets starry-eyed vocals and haunting minor keys. Providing further proof of Amirali’s on-point and immaculate production, ‘Melancholia’ is also full of soul, emotion and dark elegance.
Deetron takes the reigns on the B-side, lending his distinctive warm and emotive style to his ‘Main Mix’. Propelled forward with rising synths and a mounting tension, the Swiss wizard allows Amirali’s refrain to take centre stage underpinning the melody with an intricate percussive groove that leads to a vocal breakdown and style-shifting bassline drop. Deetron also delivers a techno twist on the ‘Club Instrumental Mix’.
Israeli born and Toronto raised, Amirali is now firmly based in London where his musical career was set in motion towards full on superstardom. Already winning over legions of fans with his blend of gothic vocals and moody emotive house, massive tracks from the album including ‘My Way’,‘Beautiful World’ and ‘Just An Illusion’ were signs that a genuine, forward-thinking musical talent had arrived. Now incredibly in-demand as a DJ on the global circuit with a South American tour behind him this year already and a North American tour about to begin, somehow Amirali has found time to begin creating a second album and cultivate a bona-fide band featuring live drums, guitar, saxophone and the man himself on keys and vocals. An exciting 2013 lies ahead…

SIOPIS - Master Plan (RBL014)

Next up on Crosstown Rebels clandestine off-shoot label Rebellion is the dexterous and versatile producer behind latest alias, SIOPIS. Adorning the‘Master Plan’ EP with a far murkier quality than previous works as Silversurfer, the SIOPIS sound is destined for the darker recesses of the club.
Comprised of three superlative cuts, the tone of the ‘Master Plan’ EP is set with a blend of lingering vocals, punchy basslines and moody undertones.A-side ‘Master Plan’ leads the way with its haunting vocals, layered over a howling bassline as the synths build with intensity.
Flip over to the B-side and it’s all swagger with ‘Buy Underground’s’ tough bassline stabs, mingling with warped synths as the track breaks down into trippy spaced out FX before a killer drop.  ‘House of Mouse’ feat. Mz Sunday & Bootslap delivers growling sub-bass and grimy beats under nimble keys and skittish bleeps while a sinister male vocal is contested by a sweeter female voice and more trippy fx perpetuates the menacing mood.
Jannis Siopis was a rather raw, dark and enigmatic lad in his early days. With a traditional Greek background in a modern German setting, a classical love affair with his clarinet and trumpet later morphed into a creative talent for break dancing, graffiti art and spinning records. Crosstown Rebels first ever record was a Silversurfer production and the label continued to nurture the talent with subsequent releases.
Now under the alias of SIOPIS, the skilled producer has shaped his beats into a groovier, house sound that has won over the Get physical imprint and agency. Greeted as ‘one of the labels most exciting young guns’ SIOPIS is more than an appropriate fit for Rebellion’s more eccentric tribal sensibility.

Get Lost Miami - 8th Session

Crosstown Rebels Present Get Lost Miami March 23, 2013 at The Electric Pickle

Are you ready to Get Lost?

An offbeat Miami sidewalk during the early morning hours, far from the glamour of South Beach, the ominous repetitive rumble of bass reaches a line of revelers waiting under a flickering neon sign. A door opens, the partygoers, all shapes and sizes, creeds and colors, find themselves ushered in, only to Get Lost…

Over the last eight years Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels’ Get Lost party at the Electric Pickle has become the cornerstone of Miami Music Week. A focal point for those looking to experience something different in the overcrowded party scene, a surefire destination at which to hear cutting edge music, and see some of dance musics most exciting names, take audiences on mind-bending musical journeys.

2013 will set a new precedent, as Crosstown Rebels celebrate its tenth anniversary at Get Lost Miami. A combination of the label's artists including Infinity Ink, Fur Coat, Subb-An and Francesca Lombardo will be joined by some extra special friends like Carl Craig, Eats Everything, Heidi, Tiga, Tini, Skream and Sneak, over the course of the 18 hour marathon.

While the headlining talent at Get Lost might be unmatched, those who have attended previous Get Lost events know, it is often those guests who sets are unannounced that provide some of the most inspiring and memorable moments of Miami Music Week.

This year as ever, Get Lost will take over all areas of the Electric Pickle for an immersive musical experience. Starting EARLY Saturday morning in the dual interior rooms, the Rebels will subversively soundtrack your morning, before opening up the Pickle’s (extended) outdoor terrace at 11am for a full day of sundrenched musical madness.

Get Lost Miami will be a marquee stop on the colossal 10 years of Crosstown Rebel Rave 2013 tour, which sees the Rebels cross five continents and eighteen countries, led by label founder and flagship artist, Damian Lazarus. The past twelve months has seen Crosstown Rebels launch a mystical festival, Day Zero, and reconnect with classic artists from the label’s history such as Mathew Jonson, Jamie Jones, Tiga & Dinky as well as typically introducing a sea of new faces such as Francesca Lombardo, Amirali, Fur Coat and Aidan Lavelle.

The ten year celebration year looks to be one of the most exciting in the label’s history, with albums from key label artists and new talents, and Get Lost stages and stops at some of the world’s biggest and best festival and club events.

LIMITED tickets for Get Lost Miami will be sold at the door from 11am on the day of the event... ADVANCE tickets are strongly recommended.

Crosstown Rebels will be making a donation to Miami based charity American Children's Orchestras for Peace (http://americanchildrensorchestras.org/) who provide music services for underprivileged children.

Ali Love Feat. Kali - Emperor (CRM108)

2013 is set to be an incredible year for Ali Love. The London-based producer and vocalist has recently inked a deal with the legendary Crosstown Rebels label and is currently putting the finishing touches to a new album (the follow up to 2010’s Love Harder). The first track to be taken from the album is ´Emperor´, which features additional vocals from Kali. The single will be available on 12" and download and comes backed with remixes from Waze & Odyssey and Maceo Plex.
‘Emperor’ comes on the back of a creative purple patch for Ali Love. As a member of both Hot Natured (with Jamie Jones, Lee Foss and Luca C) and Infinity Ink (with Luca C) Love has recently been part of two of the biggest club tracks of the last twelve months in ´Benediction´ and ´Infinity´. This upward trajectory is set to continue with Hot Natured making their debut live appearance with two headline shows at London´s 5000 capacity Brixton Academy, and a debut Hot Natured LP set for release later this year.
Ali Love’s new album will be released later in 2013 on Crosstown Rebels. As one of the UK’s finest electronic songwriters and vocalists, 2013 is set to see Ali deliver on all the potential he’s always promised, and receive the recognition he deserves.
