Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons - Vermillion (CRM140)

Pete Tong’s ‘Essential New Tune’ last week, ‘Vermillion’ is the lead single for the forthcoming album from Damian Lazarus & the Ancient Moons.  Channeling the magic of those hazy, sunrise parties Vermillion captures the globetrotting influences of Damian Lazarus’s new album.
Transported to glistening new realms, the bubbling deep house rolls beneath the revelatory soul of LA singer-songwriter and guitarist Moses Sumney, is the first of two appearances from the singer on the forthcoming album ‘Message from the Other Side’. Album out May 18th available to pre-order - http://geni.us/MessageFromTheOtherS
Released on 30th of April, ‘Vermillion’ lands with an inter-stellar remix package. French techno connoisseur Agoria leads us on a minimal, spaced out trip through shining synths and swift vocal echoes. Acclaimed house maverick and Hot Creations head honcho Jamie Jones has been closing his DJ sets for the last few weeks with his own remix.  Its bouncing, old school house tip bounding beneath bright gospel turns of phrase, approaching near classic status with arms aloft receptions on the dancefloor.  And finally Berlin’s Deniz Kurtel, who pulls her penchant for polyrhythmic percussion to the fore, casting sweet tribal grooves across an original surely destined to become a dancefloor anthem this summer.
A career spent DJing across the globe was the catalyst for Lazarus’s latest project – Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons.  Co-produced by James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco, the new album brings together an assortment of vocalists, collaborators and players from around the world, all taking inspiration from his Lazpod series, Get Lost events and Day Zero festival in Mexico.

Jamie Jones - Tracks From The Crypt (CRMCD018)

The newly crowned number one DJ in the world lets loose his second longplayer on the number one label in the world (Resident Advisor 2011). Prepare to delve deep as Jamie Jones brings us ‘Tracks From The Crypt’ on Crosstown Rebels.
Jamie Jones to announce exciting news about his plans for this summer´s Ibiza season very shortly...

Jamie Jones rise to the top has been a steady climb. The young Welshman was always respected from fellow peers and artists through early releases on Freak n’Chic, Cocoon, Get Physical and a debut artist album on Crosstown Rebels, but now is deeply admired as the best in the game.

In ‘Tracks From The Crypt’ Jamie finally sets some of the best-loved dancefloor bombs of the past five years loose from the vaults of his infamous studio. Tracks such as the bouncing infectious grooves of ‘Somewhere’, ‘Paradise’ and ‘Frequencies’ are infamous from Jamie’s live recordings, and others such as the electro-clash influenced ‘City At Night’, ‘Mari 2d Underground’ a future dancefloor anthem and ‘Tonight In Tokyo’ featuring Luca C are as yet unheard and offer a glimpse of the future. Closing with the leisurely pace of ‘The Lows’, Jamie shows he can stretch the capabilities of house music and has formulated his own new breed.

Jamie explains: "This is a collection of my favourite unreleased secret weapons from the last 5 years plus some brand new tunes that I´m hammering on the dancefloor right now. Looking back in the vaults, I found some killers that people have been trying to get their hands on for ages and decided to make my second album a combination of these."

The past few years have seen Jamie launch his own pioneering label and brand, Hot Creations and production outfit Hot Natured, forging his own path with a highly original sound as both a solo artist, and with various collaborations. His remixes of Azari III and Green Velvet were among the biggest tracks of 2011 and he has the rare ability to appeal to many diverse styles of electronic music, championed by Pete Tong, Annie Mac as well as Gilles Peterson.

Named Best Deep House DJ and remix of 2011 in DJ Awards Ibiza, Best DJ and remix by DJ Mag UK and Best DJ from Mixmag UK as well as Resident Advisor No 1 DJ of the year, Jamie Jones and his label Hot Creations are amongst the biggest names in dance music right now. Imitated the world over they got there by infusing a new originality into a tiring style of dance music - injecting energy through basslines and spirit through vocals and samples.

Jamie Jones (Feat. Art Department) - Our Time In Liberty (CRM094)

With the wait almost over for Jamie Jones’ second artist album ‘Tracks From The Crypt’ Crosstown Rebels get set to drop the absolutely massive single ‘Our Time In Liberty’ featuring cult dance outfit Art Department. A bassline symphony for the senses, this elusive slayer of dancefloors is finally getting a release alongside a heavy-duty remix from comrade Russ Yallop.
Jamie Jones has had a monumental impact on the underground house scene for this generation and out in June ‘Tracks From The Crypt’ - a collection of tracks that Jamie has created over the past few years – will epitomise the producers’ influential sound and include highly-anticipated unreleased tracks such as ‘Paradise’ and ‘Frequencies’. Now Jamie Jones is synonymous with Hot Creations, the label he started in 2010 with Lee Foss and currently one of the biggest underground labels in the world, but this release signifies a return to the artist sound that brought Jamie Jones to superstar status as a DJ and innovator.
The original ‘Our Time In Liberty’ is already a huge record without even seeing an official release, amassing thousands of views on youtube and carrying the full force of that old school Jamie Jones bassline hook on a progressive twisted trip. The ever haunting, distinctive vocals of Kenny Glasgow and the synth stabs and bass hydraulics combined, make ‘Our Time In Liberty’ a sheer sonic force to be reckoned with.
Vocalist Kenny Glasgow and No.19 boss Jonny White aka Art Department had a meteoric rise in 2011 when they unleashed ‘Without You’ – one of the biggest bombs hit the underground that year followed by killer debut LP ‘The Drawing Board’ on Crosstown Rebels. One of the Toronto scene’s finest exports, Art Department have created a sound that is burned on the collective memory.
Next up on the release, another member of the nu-school brigade Russ Yallop makes a welcome return to the mothership Crosstown, delivering a tougher, more upfront remix with heavy bass punching through the warped melody - soaring synths, sinister FX and a UK underground vibe.
